A small break.

I went to my sister's choir concert tonight. It was good to spend a few hours not thinking about outlining. It was also good to finally be able to attend the winter concert -- it was always during finals week at Tech, and while I entertained the idea once of finishing all my finals ahead of time and going home early to catch it, that never quite materialized. I really enjoyed all of the selections. The chamber choir (the one my sister's in) sang There Is No Rose, and the concert choir sang a song by P.D.Q. Bach. I really liked the instrumental pieces, too, even though my mind usually wanders where there are no words.
Sitting in the audience, I was reminded of how much I miss singing. I probably couldn't have fit it into my schedule this term anyway -- I'll be realistic here -- but I gotta make sure I don't miss the auditions this time around. Glee Club really did keep me sane at Tech, and I get the feeling I still need something like that now.
[Speaking of Glee Club, in case recent alumni didn't notice, the music from the most recent two concerts have finally been posted. The German songs sound a lot better than I expected. And I no longer have to listen to my scary Russian choir version of the Polovtsian Dances, yay.]
Also, it randomly occurred to me during the concert that I'll be several weeks out of school by the time AssTea rolls around. I might still be able to make it down depending on where I'm working, but I am at least somewhat hoping to get an offer in Japan. But I'd probably want at least a week between the end of finals and the start of my summer job, so I might drive down then, if I won't be around afterwards. We'll see. Gotta see the new hovse and such, after all.
