The road ahead...
Nov. 28th, 2006 06:59 pmYesterday, I came home, read torts for about an hour, and went to sleep without setting an alarm clock. I was vaguely aware of my dad coming home, and I probably woke up a few times while it was dark, but went "eh" and back to sleep. Finally, one of the times I woke up, I figured I should probably figure out what time it was and get up and do some work. Flipping over, I realized it was light outside. It was exactly 7:00am, about when I would normally have gotten up. Any later and I probably would have been late to class. (Especially considering my windshield was frozen over. Stupid below-zero temperatures.)
So yeah. Apparently I slept for 13 hours or so last night. I thought I'd get up automatically after a few hours -- usually that happens even when I'm really, really tired. I guess it's more the adrenaline rush when I jump out to turn off my alarm.
The upshot is that I haven't done any outlining since the stuff I did for the civ pro midterm. I've laid out the sections brain-dump style -- as in, whatever I could think of off the top of my head that we'd gone over, which is probably very incomplete -- for all my classes, but that's it.
The 3K deadline is tomorrow, and I'd kind of wanted to attempt outlining torts to make complete sure I wanted to deal with it. But I think I'll just stick with my decision not to 3K. It sounds like most people are 3King either torts or contracts, so hopefully that'll lower the bar. Or something.
So the inventory of outlines:
* Criminal Law - rough TOC (plus one sentence on actus reus in general and one sentence on omissions). 4 pages.
* Torts - top-level TOC headings only (duty, breach, damages, etc.). 2 pages.
* Contracts - rough TOC. 3 pages.
* Civil Procedure - everything needed for the midterm (court selection sans supplemental jurisdiction and removal) but no updates since then. 11 pages.
Next week is going to be fun. Especially if I'm still foolishly entertaining the notion of sending out at least one or two cover letters and resumes sometime early December, which I think I am.
[Also, random thought: why do so many first year classes start with 'c'? Civ pro, crim law, contracts, con(stitutional) law. That's 2/3. And the ones that don't (torts and property) suck the most. XP]
