Go ADV! ...maybe.
Oct. 25th, 2006 07:22 pmFrom ANN:
As you may recall, I was pretty pissed off about the name change. ["Accessible" my ass. XO] So I'm glad they've changed their minds. I can't quite decide whether this gets them bonus points or they just break even -- since, y'know, all they've really done is revert to what should be the default anyway. Either way, it makes me happy, and I will add the boxset to my wishlist when it comes out in a couple years.
The question that remains, of course, is whether they'll change the episode titles. This seems to be where sticking with the original is very much not the default, to my dismay. I find it especially annoying if the episode titles are read aloud in the episode previews, whether it's translated faithfully or substituted. Especially if the title is all kanji, and especially if it's "poeticized" like Basilisk's 4 character titles. *mutters*
In related news, I have become addicted to Suara, the artist who does the OP and the episode 26 ED for Utawarerumono. I'll probably talk about that in my Last.fm journal at some point. In the meantime, you should check out the PV onYouTube GooTube. [It's like Squenix! XD]
Utawarerumono to Keep Name (2006-10-23 22:07:15)
In August, ANN was informed by ADV Films that they were planning on releasing the Utawarerumono under the moniker "Shadow Warrior Chronicles." However ADV has now confirmed with us that Utawarerumono will be released using its original Japanese name, the first volume will be called "Utawarerumono: Mask of a Stranger." Chris Oar of ADV Films said "Originally we wanted to make it as accessible to as many people as possible," adding that they decided to reverse this decision following fan-feedback.
