This time it's about you.

If you want to take part, reply to this entry. I will poke around in your list of interests on your profile and ask you one question about one of them. You wax rhapsodic on the subject of your interest for the edification of all and we'll learn something keen about you. Then you post these instructions in your own journal.

[OMG OMG, did you see that? I used both em and i tags, and I know why they're different! But man, I hate keeping all my tags lowercase. Stupid XHTML.]

Hm... tell me more about Stargate SG1. I love the movie, but brief glimpses of the series on TV never seemed interesting. Too much action and not enough scholarly dorkiness, or something. Sometimes I wonder if I only liked the movie because 1) Ra is the hottest live-action pretty-boy ever, and 2) I soooo wish I could speak 11 languages fluently.

SG-1 is not simply an action show, there's plenty of opportunity for science and technobabble to take root, believe me. The appeal of the show is the great characters, the very quickly expanding universe and the precarious position Earth suddenly finds itself in (as if a forest-dwelling mouse has wandered into a very dark cave, and suddenly realizes it is packed with bears), and the general quirkiness of the whole thing. SG-1 knows it's science-fiction, its creators, writers and producers are long-time sci-fi fans, and so it often takes the opportunity to poke fun at itself, without breaking the fourth wall.

Give it a shot. You won't be sorry.

I think it has to be gyakuten saiban/phoenix wright, since that's the only thing on your list that I don't really know anything at all about. I was intrigued by your Kogepan last time. I would like to know more.

Where shall I start? It's a great point-and-click adventure game where you gather clues and search for contradictions in court testimony, which I think you'd get a kick out of. The best thing about it is the writing, which blends comedy and drama perfectly, as well as establishing a whole cast of fantastic slashable characters. Anything specific you'd like to know?

I'm not going to post this on my journal! (well...maybe...) But when I looked at my interests list, I thought to myself that you're the most likely person on my flist to be familiar with all the items. Is there anything that's obscure or weird to you?

Actually, there are quite a few things in your list that I haven't heard of. I think the most intriguing is sand pirates. それって何?

Xenogears is the PSX RPG to which all the Xenosaga games are prequel, and the sand pirates are these...pirates...who have a ship that...ummm...goes under the sand??

Bart Fatima is the head of the sand pirates. His half-brother Sigurd has a navel ring and a freaking bellyshirt. Which you can imagine leads to pirate x pirate incest yaoi fanfiction...

For me, it's the combination of a stupid pirate ship and the super-deformed in-game pirate sprites, which had big shoes. And I liked Bart. He never whined.

But Xenogears, yeah, that was a quality game. It's like EVA in game form, but better: 10x the misplaced science, excessive religious symbolism, giant robots, and mental breakdowns! And they only make you sit through half an hour of text, like, twice.

:P

Cool, I totally have to play it now. :P I grabbed the game last time one of our anime club members brought in random stuff to give away, which he does regularly. I'm working through FF7 at the moment, though. Which probably has all of the above, minus giant robots.

Wow... I hadn't even looked at my own interests list for a while, until this meme popped up. Anyway, pick what you like. :)

Congratulations. You win the "I've heard of all of your interests" award that [livejournal.com profile] nendil and [livejournal.com profile] maruchan wanted so badly. :P

Tell me about some of the unique lip balms you own or have heard of.

I was going to say "olol that's because she has 5" but I see that's been improved upon. ;P

Yeah, but I guess it was easy because most of the list, as I now realize, was composed of food items. I'm not sure if I was hungry when I wrote that. :P

Oops, I guess I am supposed to reply here, huh.

Anyway... wow, lip balms. I could probably make you all sick of lip balm if I'm not careful, so I'll try to keep this short. I had started collecting lip balms with Softlips, and I managed to get all the flavors in a few years (cherry, mint, lemon, french vanilla, and the two rarest ones, cappucino and strawberry).

I've got some extra-wide lip balms too - the stick is the diameter of a quarter or larger, I believe. I don't know why they're so huge, but maybe it's for people who like to get both lips at once? :) Anyway, one's a Chocolate one from Naturistics, the other is an Icing flavored one from Bonne Bell.

I've got a few liquid types, applicable with a baton or a roller. These tend to be sticky or leak-prone, so I rarely use them. My most recent favorite was a nice smooth beeswax one from Burt's Bees; the mint is really refreshing, and the fruit ones are good too (cherry's my fave; smells like cherry-almond).
