1. My username is ctrl_a because I was thinking about ctrlaltdel as a username, and thought that was cool, and wondered what other keyboard shortcuts would work. I'm indecisive, and I always want both or all options, so I thought ctrl_a was fitting because it usually means "Select All". I didn't really expect this LJ to become such a major outlet, so I thought I might as well try out a weird username. I think I have an older LJ under the name vaire, too, which was just for posting quiz results and such. So yeah, now I kind of regret having this as my username and wish I'd stuck with one of my more standard names, probably lady_elwen or quethiril. Ah well.
2. My journal is title "norakura shitai no..." because it's one of the quotes that goes with the icon. I theme my journal (color scheme, title, subtitle, and friends page title) based on my current default icon. The title means "I want to be lazy/aimless", approximately.
3. My subtitle is "nonbiri shitenai to shinjau no", which means "I'll die if I'm not carefree", because it was also in the stationery and seemed the least random and kind of followed from the title.
4. My friends page is called "kuttsuiteru to attaka na no", which means "it's warm if we stick together", because it makes sense for friends.
5. My default userpic is a nagomimakuri made of snow because I wanted something winter-y. Unfortunately, the color scheme is a little too spring green for that. Nagomimakuri is my favorite San-X character -- I've never figured what the relationship is between San-X and Sanrio, but they both tend to come up with cute characters to market, like Hello Kitty. Nagomimakuri are nature spirits that look kind of like newts. There are white ones with leaves on their head, which are forest spirits, and blue ones that are water spirits. There are also versions with pink flowers on their head. I like the leaf ones the best, and I have a couple types of stationery featuring them. My icon is from a winter-themed set, in which the nagomimakuri is kind of depressed because of the cold and hiding from the snow under a leaf, staring out at his snow-nagomimakuri. There are also sheets in which they form a big pile in order to stay warm, which is very cute, and which is where the friends page quote comes from. ^_^
I have a couple other nagomimakuri icons that I've used variously, including the "mosha" one that I drew by hand based on a stationery set in which a nagomimakuri gets drunk after eating a flower. ^o^;;
Maybe I should do this every time I change my icon, so people know what all the quotes are. I really liked the one I had with the blindfolded Riku icon, which was "the closer you get to the light, the greater your shadow becomes".
