If I was by myself, I think either Catch-22 or Earth Abides. Not sure why, those are just what came to mind. Otherwise, I'd probably get a group together to memorize the Lord of the Rings.

Actually, the answer is more like, "All the time." Silk (from David Eddings' Belgariad and Malloreon) and George Cooper (from Tamora Pierce's Tortall) are pretty long-abiding crushes. ... Oh wait, "fictional" doesn't limit it to books, does it? In that case there are far too many to count. @_@
