Soon spring break will turn into an ordinary weekend will turn into an ordinary week of classes. I wouldn't exactly say I'm happy with my break, but I'm happy. I didn't sleep excessively, but I got good sleep. I didn't particularly get things done, but I did things.

I did beat Lunar: Silver Star Story, which I started during winter break, I believe. The ending was kind of blah, I thought. Long and nice, but blah. (Not to mention I died after the final boss. I would have been pretty pissed if I hadn't impulsively saved right before.) I thought the plot kind of fell apart, but now that I think about it, maybe it wasn't all that sound to begin with. Decided I could go without the supposedly fifteen minutes of outtakes, i.e. people giggling and talking to themselves. Still wondering why English voice acting is so sucky. I always groaned when they decided to voice over parts of the dialogue, especially since it seemed like there was always someone taking a shower at that precise moment. In particular, Nall's "inspirational speech" after Xenobia's hijinks made me want to tear my hair out. Give me the cute cel-shaded facial expressions any day.

[Speaking of people taking showers, it's always a nice to be reminded that you are not alone by hearing someone take a shower every night, without fail, between the hours of 3:30 and 4:30 AM. Oi.]

Take-home lesson: Nash + Ghaleon's Tear = teh awesome. He's fast and he only gets one hit anyway, so it enables him to neatly begin the process of weakening all enemies at once without sacrificing anything. As a bonus, most of his bows have added stat effects, especially the last one which apparently has instant death. Not that great on one target at a time, but apply it to the entire field of enemies, and. Ah, the Ultra Fiends I took down in one hit.

The other somewhat notable thing I did was start reading Alice 19th. It is certainly Yuu Watase's work. I devoured the first volume practically in one sitting. Although now the whole "loved one turns worst enemy in part sparked by dissention over the male lead" theme is annoying me. I had enough of that from Miaka and Yui. Am enjoying the fact that Frei looks like a cross between Nakago and Tokaki but is cooler than both. Although, of course we know that the Tamahome clone will end up with the girl. (My poor Yuuhi...) Blissfully ignoring the kanji for the Lotis and Maram -- I should probably at least figure out what Kyou's word is. Still think Alice looks kind of like Sakura, but only in the colored images. But why does the rabbit's name sound like a cutesified version of "Nazca"? Although she is very cute in human form.

I may soon drop all other reading to be consumed by Sherlock Holmes, however. I read the entire canon once long ago -- sometimes I forget how long of a bookworm history I have, and am amazed by the titles I've read in the past and entirely don't remember. As I go through the stories, I think, "Oh yeah, I remember this part," but can't for the life of me think ahead and recall the explanations for his deductions. And thus the mysteries are just as gripping as they were the first time. And I wouldn't read them otherwise, really, so it's all good.

I don't give about the spelling of his name. Furei is so cool, though. I don't think he looks like Nakago... o_O He certainly is awesome. Also, Kyou isn't that bad. :P Yeah, it IS getting annoying with the theme. Try reading Zettai Kareshi. Heh heh. It's a bit different from Yuu Watase's other stuff. Bishie heaven? Maybe.
