Darker than Black 9.

Woah.
I thought this would be a filler episode because it featured the otaku girl and the deadbeat detective guy from the first season. (Though I don't even remember what they did in the first season.)
I guess I should have known that the pace of season 2 does not allow for filler episodes. Just some soul-searching, some tantalizing hints from Amber about the link between Yin and the Pavlichenko twins . . . AND HEI SHAVED! He's like the old sexy Hei now, except with more dark circles under his eyes. Kyaa.
Looks like we're getting to the climax, with Suou finding out she's supposed to be dead. I figured as much from the first episode. I always thought it was something like, Suou died, but Shion's Contractor power was able to save her, but it was such a great use of power that his remuneration was to be unable to walk for all those years. No clue what he and his dad are up to now, though. Actually, the beginning reminded me a lot of Asura Cryin' and how dead people could be put into the Asura Machinas -- I've totally forgotten the terminology for all that stuff. The meteor scene is even very similar to the . . . shipwreck? or whatever that that annoying blond guy was in.
ETA: Gah, I meant 9, not 8. Can't believe I left it like that for a week.
