So we're singing Rutter's Requiem this fall (and Faure's Cantique de Jean Racine, which I did at Tech as well). The Requiem is beautiful all around, but I am totally addicted at the moment to the Agnus Dei. Wow. It's kind of dissonant, in that pretty, modern music way. But when it goes to forte (the part after the held "whom?"), it just gives me shivers. Also the timpani. So ominous. *music nerd drool*
Totally worth the pain of harmonizing in weird thirds and keeping track of all those half-steps and whole-steps.
