Oh, I didn't even realize that the series had started airing. ^^;;
The OP has all of the old villains -- Gaav, Phibrizzo, Valgaav -- which makes me wonder if they're there just for show, or what. I thought they were all pretty conclusively defeated. Then again, you would have thought that about Rezo, too. So, the jar being called Hellmaster's Jar may not bode well...
Notably, Xellos wasn't in the OP or ED, but early on in the episode, Lina says something must be up because he was involved, so he's obviously still part of the plot in some way. I hope it doesn't mean his actual appearances will be limited.
And... Nama, OMG. Wow. Did not see that coming.
SPOILERS AHEAD
So "Nama" is very obviously actually Naga, who touched Hellmaster's Jar and got turned into an empty suit of armor. Her memories and personality also kind of got scrambled, so now she alternately talks like a petulant little girl and like Naga. The switching back and forth was kind of unconvincing, I have to say. "Nama" also retains the signature laugh and triggers violent reactions in Lina just by talking. (She calls herself "Nama" because she can't quite remember what her name is supposed to be.)
Weird way to bring Naga into the TV series. I wonder if they are going to keep her as armor for long? I'm a little tired of all the new party additions being humans-in-non-human-bodies. At least the OP showed Pokota's human form opening his eyes, though I'm guessing that won't happen for a while.

Date: 2009-02-19 01:16 pm (UTC)I've seen up through episode 5 (since that's the furthest I've found fansubbed, although it's aired through 6), and so far I'm enjoying it more than Revolution. Nama is not as annoying as I feared she would be, at least IMO. (If you want spoilers I can tell you if I've seen Xellos yet.)
