How original...
Feb. 6th, 2009 12:53 amYou know what's the most annoying plot device ever? Killing the girl, so the protagonist, instead of becoming all lovey-dovey and living happily ever after and ending the show, will now hold a grudge, and the producers will have a plot, which will last them a good 20 episodes at least. I mean, really now. Why can't she be a cheerleader and egg him on from this side of the grave?
I won't say what show I have in mind, but man, they had me convinced that she wasn't a throwaway character after all . . . and then they threw her away again! And she didn't even do any immediate good in sacrificing herself and getting killed! (Besides the whole inspiring a grudge and prolonging the plot thing.)
Bah humbug.
