Y'know, I don't think I ever really believed directors who say that you sing louder when you're higher, until I listened to this. I mean, I thought I was singing relatively softly and definitely without much dynamics, but man, going into the Sakura Drops chorus... ouch.

And because I kept trying to redo that part, so that it didn't blow your speakers when you got to it (it's still bad, but trust me, it was worse), I only have 2 voiceposts left for the month. I guess I better hope I can get the next two parts without do-overs. D:

Hm. I think the higher = louder thing is a result of physics or something, like faster moving air at higher pitches. Ehh, acoustics is not my strong suit.

Don't worry about getting the voice posts up; just take your time. It's all in fun. :D

Oh, and don't worry, I didn't get my ears blown off by my headphones. I actually thought the spoken parts were louder than the sung ones. :)

The funny thing about Sakura Drops -- and lots of other Utada songs at that -- is that they don't feel beyond my range when I sing along to her, but when I try to sing by myself, it's like my vocal chords collapse in on themselves. =/

Hm, Disney songs... *thinks back to all the musical-izations she saw at Mouse World*

You wouldn't usually think of it but Hikki has a remarkable range. Sakura Drops goes nearly to the bottom of my range right before shooting up like two octaves or something. The key is she makes falsetto sound (reasonably) good.
