Okiayu-sama~~~~
May. 28th, 2007 11:57 pmAhhh, Tybalt finally appeared in Romeo x Juliet, and he is sooooo cool. *_*
[If you'll recall, my originalexcuse reason for watching the show was hearing that Okiayu Ryoutarou was voicing Tybalt. I'm addicted to the series now regardless, but it was still nice, seven episodes in, to have my patience rewarded.]
I'll be pretty pissed off if Romeo kills him like in the original story. Given his swordsmanship, I have a hard time seeing that happen anyway. Plus, Mercutio doesn't show up much -- I originally thought he didn't show up at all, but I seem to remember some guy around Romeo's age in early episodes being evil and scheme-y. He's definitely not friendly with Romeo, so I'm guessing they've changed that part of the story. [Then there was that moment in episode 6 when Romeo thought Juliet was dead, and I was thinking, "What? We've gotten that far already?"]
On the other hand, Tybalt rides a black pegasus to complement Romeo's white one, so there may be some duality thing going on there after all.
It's funny because I was feeling my Okiayu obsession bubbling up today anyway. I've been downloading episodes of Radio Marginal, which he hosts -- as much as I love Okiayu-sama when he's dark and sexy, I also like him when he's silly, and that's harder to find. Plus I was watching Shining Tears X Wind, which also features him, albeit as a fairly one-dimensional, single-minded bad guy who's more annoyingly arrogant than kick-ass. I'm currently watching two shows I started watching solely because he plays a main character: Marginal Prince (the namesake of Radio Marginal) and Jigoku Sensei Nuube. Hey, it's a perfectly normal reason to watch a series, right? Right? Just like recommending shows because they have Chiyo dad...
*cough*
Anyways, just had to squee about Tybalt. He fights with twin swords, whee! :D

Date: 2007-05-29 04:19 pm (UTC)and Juliet has lost 80% of her coolness since falling in love with Romeon ;-;
btw wouldn't it be awesome if Okiayu Ryoutarou showed up as a seiyuu in saiunkoku!!! :D

Date: 2007-05-29 06:59 pm (UTC)Um... Okiayu Ryoutarou is a seiyuu in Saiunkoku. ^^;; He plays Kurou. Not the greatest role for showing off his substantial talents, but what can you do. Now if they'd just give him an image song . . . or at least invite him as a guest on either Souken no Mai or the DVD Specials...

Date: 2007-05-30 02:25 am (UTC)But Romeo and Juliet went downhill the moment Mercutio died. I know you're not talking about the play-version of Romeo and Juliet--- but heh, I have yet to watch the one you're blogging on.
It sounds hot. Maybe I should...
