Had to take that in college for my major but umm...yeah I avoided it in High school cuz it's hard ;-;

I mean, I took calculus as a high school junior, but I never saw partial differential equations until sophomore year in college, and that's only because I took applied and computational math a year early and because I was an engineering major. I.e. there's absolutely no reason Kyouya should be solving the heat equation (http://mathworld.wolfram.com/HeatConductionEquation.html) in junior high. Especially if he's just supposed to go to med school and business school like his brother. I mean, just because these kids are super-rich doesn't mean they're super-smart. Then again, if just Kyouya is super-smart (which I can totally believe), then the fact that he's super-rich means his junior high could hire a private tutor to teach him PDEs -- otherwise I can't imagine how the school would even offer such a subject.

...um, yeah. I take anime too seriously sometimes. >.> But mainly I felt bad because I couldn't remember what he was working on even though I've written out those same equations countless times. Now that I've looked it up on MathWorld, it's all coming back to me...

Anyway, like I said above, I majored in chemical engineering. But I took Japanese all through high school and for two years in college. Now my only improvement is coming from gradually picking up new vocabulary and kanji as I watch anime and read light novels. (I'm reading Scrapped Princess right now. Unfortunately, Saiunkoku Monogatari is a bit beyond me at the moment -- too much new terminology.)

*gulp* I'm in engineering grad school and I can't guarantee I'd be able to solve that. What kind of high school *does* he go to??
