[I did say this blog was for talking about anime, right? And I'm not really reading or playing anything right now, so.]

We watched Twin Signal today, which was great. Very well put together, with good action and lots of comedy. I don't know much else to say about it.

I watched the first episode of Planetes, which wasn't great, but the end made me decide that I'll still give it a chance after all. I don't think it's anything like Cowboy Bebop, aside from the way the futuristic space-going world is set up. The comedy is somewhat crude, not in a perverted sense, but just not witty and intellectual enough for me, I suppose. Also, I didn't see any intriguing premise. Okay, so she works for the company division that gathers space debris, yay. If it's episodic like that, it could get boring really fast. But I'll wait and see if there's anything more.

I also watched the first two episodes of Kimi ga Nozomu Eien (Eternity You Wish For), which was again so-so. I suppose I don't really like the high school romance genre after all. KareKano is rather unique, I'm guessing. So it was all kind of blah. The only part I really liked was the banter between the three at the very beginning. I like character interplay like that, with just teasing and playfulness; it's like a dance where everyone knows their next step, but has to repond to everyone else. And Akane is pretty cool, although not the kind to be a main character, just hang around and be bothersome and pushy towards someone more shy. Unfortunately, people like Haruka I find really annoying, especially with the always apologizing and the shyness and the easily embarrassed, and yet so pure-hearted and lovable I suppose. She seemed normal enough when she wasn't around Narumi. Bah. And he became practically the same way when he was around her. So I was very frustrated by the two of them. And what was up with him always making her wait? He's always so earnest around her, and then on his way he meets up with Mitsuki and poof! "date? what date?"

Hm, apparently I am still annoyed with these wild goose chase kinds of romantic dramas. But I admit I'm a bit curious about Mitsuki. Obviously she has something on her mind, and the immediate conclusion would be that she's ended up liking Takayuki as well, which would be rather cliche, although I don't think I've ever watched something through that did that, so I might as well to see what is actually done with such twists. But I would be happy if it was something else, too.

As the review said, the end of the second episode did make things a lot more interesting, though not in the way I expected. More, with spoilers. ) In any case, I'll give it a few more episodes at least.

I can't believe I forgot to mention this earlier.

That is all.

If you've ever been annoyed by professors that say, "Convince yourself that this is true," or books that tell you, "The proof is left as an exercise for the reader," here's even worse:

Because these statements are intuitively acceptable, they are presented without proof.

It's especially effective because the previous sentence says they can be "easily proved". But, apparently they don't feel like it anyway.
