We're singing so many naughty/silly songs in Glee Club this term. It'll be lots of fun, although the rhythms are hard. But I find it particularly amusing because we only have one concert this term, because of the PSICA festival, and that's off-campus at a church. Not to mention the festival itself, which had a variety of styles last year, but somehow it seems more intimdating to sing songs that are so "irreverent", as Desiree called them. (She was commenting on how we've done so much religious music lately, what with the Bloch Sacred Service third term last year and the Bach Magnificat last term, so this term it's all secular.)

So we're singing Drunken Sailor -- you know, "what shall we do with a drunken sailor, early in the morning?", you probably know the melody even if you don't recognize the words -- which is fairly straightforward, and then there are just a few songs that are very . . . interesting. I'm always fond of euphemisms.

Like Feller From Fortune and some lyrics from dear old William Shakespeare, like "Sigh no more, ladies, sigh no more!".

It'll be disappointing that so few students will come listen, most likely. I think they'd be more likely to appreciate the humor than the older audiences.

I agree. They should really try to find a place for us to perform on-campus, because it's going to be weird just singing this in a church for our usual crowd of old ladies. I dunno. Even if we had to sing in a lecture hall I wouldn't mind, though I'm pretty sure that's not possible what with the piano and all. And the bad acoustics.
