The things you learn from watching the news...

They're getting rid of POPCORN! ;_;

(I was actually watching the news in hopes of hearing something about the fire I drove by as I went out for groceries. I almost thought I wouldn't get home because they closed off the segment of the road that runs past the turnoff to our house. I couldn't tell it was coming from that apartment complex until I drove back -- at first I thought it was from the cluster of Asian stores on the street corner, which includes the daycare center where my aunt works.)

When I returned from winter break this year, my flight was a bit delayed on landing at SJC and the taxi driver took a scenic route to get to my apartment. I didn't know why at the time; wasn't until I got into the office the next day and people sent me pictures of a giant inferno they witnessed from the office around the time I was arriving... the first few photos made it look like the blaze was right next to my complex. I was so oblivious the previous evening that I missed the nice after-dark glow in the neighbourhood, the smell of smoke, etc...

Uh, survival instinct? Right....

Haha, I remember Time of Day service. I used to dial it all the time when I was a kid. I didn't know they still had it anywhere, to be honest ^_^;

Yeah, I haven't used it in ages. But it's one of those things... I've always just expected it to be there, so suddenly finding out it's going away makes me sad.
