I just saw the craziest banner ad for Basilisk. It shows several of the characters one by one, mostly in pretty kick-ass poses. Then it says, "Click here to watch them die."

Most terrible. spoilerrific. advertisement. ever.

Okay, so it doesn't take more than the first episode to figure out how disposable people are going to be. And maybe it's good to have an idea of that beforehand. (It's kept me safely away from Elfen Lied, after all.) But still. Who is it going to attract?

I was bumping around on ANN and stumbled upon that exact same banner ad. It was... *horrible* I'm sure there are more merits to a series than just watching characters get hacked off before we even get to know them, right...?

Anyway. In case you were wondering why I even bothered to look at ANN, I was looking up Morita Masakazu. He just won an award for his Bleach work - woohoo! :)

ANN is probably one of my most visited sites because I like to play the "seiyuu game", also known as "OMG, he was who in what?!"

Along those lines, apparently Morita Masakazu did Ledah in the game Riviera. So far, the English voices don't bother me, but I always wonder about the original voices, and the walkthrough was saying how awesome Lost Seraph (one of the special moves) sounds in Japanese, and now I'm even more curious. And he did Tidus in Final Fantasy X. That seems . . . oddly appropriate somehow.

Ah, I did that with Wiki once, trying to figure out the (it turns out, it's insane) overlaps between Naruto and Bleach seiyu. "Wait a minute, so Choji was Renji!??!" that sort of thing.

Based on what little I know of Tidus, he seems ... strangely appropriate too. As a bit of a newcomer, he's probably going to get shafted into 'main male character with spiky hair' roles from now on... (I think he also did some motion-capture work for Advent Children, but I might not be remembering right.)
